About

Soil and Land Resources Information System (SLRIS) is a user-friendly web and mobile application that is developed to provide a highly intuitive and effective recommendation system that has accurate information, action plans and reports for multiple players across the Agriculture Ecosystem. It is developed using State-of-the-art Geospatial Technologies involving Remote Sensing, GIS, Photogrammetry, and other web and mobile technologies. It is implemented with the help of high-resolution satellite data from national and international satellite data providers. Ground truthing of thematic details, soil profile study, and field validation was carried to increase the accuracy of information.

SLRIS ‘a pilot project under Comprehensive Agriculture Management Program (CAMP)’ is implemented in three clusters selected from three regions Jaintia Hills, Khasi Hills and Garo Hills of Meghalaya State. Each cluster is spread over an area of 25,000 Ha, totaling to an area of 75,000 Ha. SLRIS is designed, developed, and implemented by Remote Sensing Instruments (RSI), Hyderabad for Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Government of Meghalaya.
